There are
two types of artwork that can be used in the screen printing
process - vectored artwork and rasterized artwork.
Vectored
artwork is characterized by outlines (stroke) that create
a defined area and a fill that colors the defined area. This would
be similar to a coloring book. Vector artwork is easily scalable to
any size desired. This is the most commonly used art type in screen
printing.
Rasterized
artwork is characterized by pixels, or small individually colored
dots that create an image. Pixels are what you are viewing right now
on this computer monitor. Rasterized artwork does not scale easily
and can become fuzzy or grainy as it is enlarged without the
approriate application to recalculate additional pixels. All
scanned images are raster images.

If you are
providing artwork, it must be production ready. We
accept Coreldraw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Windows
Meta-files (.wmf), and encapsulated post script (.eps) files, for
spot color designs. All fills and strokes of vectored
artwork must utilize the Pantone Matching System color
pallatte.
JPeg (.jpg), .GIF, .BMP,
and all other raster image files can only be separated using a
process, or simulated process technique that will require a minimum
4 colors, even if the design only appears as 2 colors.
Rasterized images can be converted to vector images at our
hourly rate.
Art Charges are $45.00
per hour with a minimum $35.00 charge when artwork is not provided.
Most original artwork can be produced in under 2 hours. In some
instances a nominal charge of $20.00 may be applied to customer
provided artwork if modification is necessary to produce
color separations. An example of this would
be converting strokes and fills to the pantone
pallatte. We will gladly advise in advance if modifications are
necessary.

The process of converting and
producing art for screen printed or embroidered designs is
more complex than merely copying a graphic from a website. We
gladly invite any questions you have regarding this process. Please
